What most people know now as Show, Inc. has a long and rich history in the Sapulpa community

1964 Sapulpa Council for the Mentally Retarded was organized by parents of children with disabilities. This year also witnessed many fundraising events and the organization of a non-sectarian church school for these children.

1966 a summer day camp program was initiated under the name Sapulpa School for Handicapped Children with an initial enrollment of ten children.

The Sapulpa Council for the Mentally Retarded change to Sapulpa Association for Retarded Children (SARC) to conform to the National Association for Retarded Children.

1966 The first Charity Ball in Sapulpa was held to support the school. This tradition has lasted throughout the years and continues today with the Annual Charity Ball helping to support Show, Inc.

1976 Sapulpa began transporting six adults with developmental disabilities to the Sertoma Handicapped Opportunity Workshop in Tulsa then in

1977 S.H.O.W. – Sapulpa Handicapped Opportunity Workshop opened its doors.

1980 S.H.O.W. became a United Way Agency

1985 S.H.O.W. moved to its current location and after 15 years of operating as a sheltered workshop, offered opportunities for community integrated employment in 1989.

1991 the building size is almost doubled and Show Recycling Center is opened.

1992 to reflect the changes in S.H.O.W. and remove the stigma attached to the word “handicapped” the name is legally changed to Show, Inc.

1997 an Assisted Living Program was implemented to help individuals remain in their own homes.

2009 a respite program providing for caregivers of children with special needs was added to Show

2010 Show initiated a latchkey program for older students in Sapulpa Public Schools

2011 Show held the first Summer Camp for children with disabilities (since 1966!)

2014 Show opened our Adult Day Center for those who work is not an appropriate setting

Show, Inc. has seen many changes and has experienced tremendous growth over the years since its humble beginnings decades ago. Show, Inc. now serves more than 100 adults with developmental disabilities. These workers staff Show Recycling Center, do onsite shredding for the City of Sapulpa, go out on curbside and commercial recycling pickups in Sapulpa and Tulsa, and help provide the landscaping services for Sapulpa Main Street.

For 50 years, Show, Inc. truly has been The Pathway to a New Beginning.
