Show, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 1976, serves as an employment training center for adults with developmental disabilities and offers after-school care for students and children with developmental disabilities. Recycling is the basis for Show’s vocational program. Show opened its recycling center in the early 1990’s and contracted as a processor with The M.E.T. in 1993. Show operates a curbside program in the city of Sapulpa and serves over 100 commercial accounts including Tulsa Community College campuses, BOK Technology Center, Boulder Tower, Meridian Tower and Sapulpa Public Schools.
A recent partnership with Waste Management (and PepsiCo) expands our route to ONEOK Field, ORU, and OSU at Tulsa with many more “Dream Machines” to come! The merits of the program are two-fold: providing meaningful work for adults with developmental disabilities, and bettering the environment through recycling. Oklahoma DHS states as of June 2011, over 6,000 people remain on the waiting list for services such as ours. These people want to work and we want to provide a place to work.
Totals Are In! For 2016 we officially processed 1.2 million pounds of material .
Show, Inc. is the proud recipient of the 2013 Henry Bellmon Sustainability Award “Quality of Life for All”
